On Disc I, my favorite ballads are Nos. 1, 6, 7, 12, 17, 19, 22, 33, 34, and the theme by David Raksin (composer of "Laura") from The Bad and the Beautiful (#3). The up-tempo tunes (featuring bassist Dmitri Kolesnik) that I particularly like are Nos. 2, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, and 35.
On Disc II, "My Fair Lady" by Lerner and Loewe produced five of the songs (Nos. 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14), while four are from Frank Loesser's "The Most Happy Fella" (Nos. 28, 29, 30 and 31). Four songs won Academy Awards (Nos. 19, 22, 40 and 41) with three others having been nominated (Nos. 2, 3 and 25).
Of the 80 songs on the two discs, 29 came from Broadway shows, 16 from movies, and 13 were closely associated with Frank Sinatra.
